THE VERY MOMENT OFORI-ATTA STEPS ON THE TARMAC AT KIA, HE MUST BE HANDCUFFED, BUNDLED, AND MARCHED BACKWARDS TO A GHANA POLICE COUNTERBACK LIKE ALL OTHER CRIMINALS ARE.
OFORI-ATTA IS NOT A GOD WHO MUST BE WORSHIPPED ON ARRIVAL IN BANKRUPTED GHANA. THE SAME APPLIES TO CRIMINALS LIKE AKUFO-ADDO AND SEDINAM TAMAKLOE.
SINCE 1957, GHANA'S ECONOMY HAS BEEN BLED BY THE VERY CRIMINALS WE ENTRUST OUR ECONOMY TO, AND REMUNERATE GENEROUSLY, BUT THEY'RE ALL CRIMINALS AND DO NOT DESERVE OUR RESPECT ONE BIT.
THERE MUST BE A DEADLY BLOODY REVOLUTION IN GHANA TO STOP ALL THIS NONSENSE VISITED ON US BY GHANA'S SUCCESSIVE LEADERS. THEY ARE NOT GODS.
OFORI-ATTA'S ASSETS, INCLUDING THOSE OF AKUFO-ADDO, MUST BE CONFISCATED TO THE BANKRUPT HIGHLY-TAXED TOILING POOR FUCKED UP PEOPLE OF GHANA, REGARDLESS OF TRIBALISM OR SOCIAL STATUS.

I think this transport crisis can be solved within days if government wants to. Just get the train engineers working with Ghana railways in collaboration with mechanical engineering students to repair some old train engines and put them up on some routes like Accra to Nsawam , then gradually find private investors in Ghana to run this limited facility and then they will gradually revamp the railway system. Just look at the Tema oil refinery miracle and kick start the railways. I will also appeal to the government to do same with VALCO.Do not sell this assets to foreigners.

@CKA,
Your suggestion is a good one, but how practical is it?
One thing: a train is not made up of only mechanical components, where it would suffice to fix some bolts and nuts and the get it running. You know I'm not talking about Stevenson's steam engine
Modern trains are a universum of its own and consist of mechanical, electrical, electronics, mecha-tronics (combination of mechanics and electronics, like relays, actuators), hydraulics, micro-processors, computer software and hardware, to name a few.
Therefore e one need a set of professionals from various disciplines to maintain a trains. That is why we have specialized companies that have trained professionals to maintain the trains.
Students are very good on paper, but out of place in real orld maintenance of trains.
Another point: do you kno that ove 70% of the rail tracks are either stolen, completeldy rusted, destroyed by galamasey, engulfed by thick forest?
If not do some research and find out. I'l tell you to go to a place calle 'LOCO' or Location in Sekondi to visit the central train repair workshop in Ghana, but go there with a handkerchief or Tempo tissue paper, because you'ld cry like you are at a funeral!!!
So I'd complement your suggestion: first govt should maintain the rail tracks and upgrade from the narrow guage to the standard 1435 guage, so that we can use any modern train from Europe. Govt MUST be the ONLY owner of the entire track system in Ghana.
Private companies should run the train services, to make it more efficient and profitable for the investors. These companies would then pay to the govt, for the usage of the tracks.
Sad, but govt cannot run any efficient train service in Ghana: the CEO, Managers and workers would DESTROY it as they have been doing to all govt enterprises: steal all the parts, money, award very dubious contracts to their proxy companies, just to exploit govt and get away with it.

Let's all study the progress and history of Ghana from Nkrumah's overthrow in 1966. Political Party offshoots from Nkrumahist ideology always plan, build, and develop the nation. However, whenever Danquah/Dombo offshoots assume power, they abandon and destroy projects started or built by their predecessors. They've never built even one single university, but they always try to name the ones built by others after their devilish political and family forefathers. Ghana was producing almost all basic items, such as toothpicks, canned tomatoes, radios, glass, shoes, sugar, and numerous others. Where are all those factories now? GIHOC factories, Asutuare and other Sugar factories, Aboso Glass Factory, etc. Ghana was even at the doorstep of building a nuclear power plant, but nation-wreckers put a stop to it, and their foreign accomplices stole all the equipment. What a shame!
NPP, as an offspring of the devilish ideology, continues to advance these degressive policies.
