We are not serious as a nation.We have tons of locally produced rice unsold and rice is being imported into the country. No wonder we cannot feed ourselves as a nation. We do not want to eat what our farmers produce but rather prefer to eat imported food items. How can the country progress with such an attitude.The government should stop rice importation. If ghanaians will not eat rice produced in Ghana they can go to hell. How can farming be an attractive profession when what our farmers produce are not patronised by ghanaians? Ghanaians are the enemies of Ghana.

The farmers or the local traders should rather be reasonable in their pricing instead of being the greedy that they are . They should feed them to their families . No sane person will buy theirs if they want to enrich themselves in seconds .

Local rice are very good and I think millions of Ghanaians will want to eat them and proudly help the economy but the PROBLEM is that the price oooo… when 5kg of perfume rice is 90 cedis or local rice is 130 cedis. Same quantity, workers are not having and salary increase, it’s hard for everyone but our farmers horde goods waiting for price hike. If government will buy a subsidize, Ghanaians can patronize but until then they should work on realistic price reduction. The foreign rice pays import duty and all but still very cheaper compared to home grown. We beg this farmers.
