And for how long they can continue rescue cedis instead of rescuing the citizens from poverty?I dont understand because no matter how the y millions of dollars rescue cedis the value of both currencies are the same and it does not reflect on any ordinary Ghanaian 's porcket and it even become worse.my question is:do Americans put any money to rescue dollar against cedis???,Ghanaian workers are not being paid well, nurses are going on strike,no vacancies in this country and yet u pump millions of dollars to rescue cedis????come on,hospitals in this country lack of beds and u yet u guys dont care because u dont go to hospital in this counrty, our good leaders of this country should wake up because we falling back, ask where leaders of Americans go to the hospital?we hve gold so what is backing cedis????

Pumping dollars to commercial banks to stabilize the cedi is not only a lazy alternative, but financial loss to the state on the long run. You pump out $300 m to stabilizing the cedi rather than solving the root cause: Is that a social intervention or an investment? We want to know. Meanwhile, after all that prices of goods are still going high as usual and only "Abochi" got the dollar. The commercial banks got it cheaper and sell pretty higher, so who benefits from this intervention. Beware of JDM and the NDC. They always have a master plan how to 'put money in their pockets'. From 2012 to 2016, the agenda was 'judgement debt' and energy contracts, signing excess capacity of power which didn't solve our energy crisis but left us indebted. We still talk about dumsor in 2025 despite what they made Ghana to pay of power contracts. This time, they focus on cedi stabilization which wouldn't reduce prices of good, but will break lose exponentially when they don't have more money to pump to commercial banks. This is not the way to strengthen your currency, it's not sustainable. It's like putting the cedi on a life support without any form of treatment. You don't have to be an economist to know the outcome!
