You're not interested in tackling and regulating the ambiguous overpriced cement by local manufacturers but want to stop the inflow of cheap foreign cement.

The poor Ghanaian is patronising what is affordable. The cedi has appreciated for some number of months yet the so called standard-quality cement's price is still pinned at the abnormal rate. Now you want the poor Ghanaian consumer to purchase them regardless. We will not. If it is standard in one country and yet affordable, it is the best option for the poor Ghanaian consumer. The ministry has shown no concern about regulating prices of goods all this while. However, it does not want us to patronise what we can afford.
God, how long will you watch the rich exploit the poor to the egocentric desire? God, help our homeland, Ghana.

Cement producers are getting away with murder and the minister is patronising them. Look at what Sam George is doing to DSTV which is in a far smaller industry. Cement prices jumped from 40 cedis in 2021 to 120 in 2025 because of cedi depreciation. Why are cement prices still the same after the cedi appreciated significantly since the second quarter 2025. Maybe Sam George should be transferred to this ministry. The Trade minister is no good.

This move is very unfortunate, politicians don't care about us, the mAin motive here is to allow Ghacem and other few companies to exploit us with pricing and substandard products
