  Oh at long last my prayers has been answered.after watching a documentary on prisons in Mexico and studying youth justice all I said to myself was why can't this be done in all prisons especially their mental health and nutrition? But now it's been implemented at Sunyani prisons pls post online how people can help so that we can donate our widow's mite.

  Well said Abi, but corruption can spoil this brilliant initiative. Do you really think that the senior officers will feed the inmates with the products? This is free labor and exploitation for the officers. Even free donations are diverted. Years back, an NGO made a very huge donation of food items and monitored things for some time and realized that not one single grain of the hundreds of bags of rice was fed to the inmates. One third found its way to the market and the rest into the kitchens of the officers!! Our big men curse themselves all the time through such acts.

When the animal was slaughtered the big men wanted to share the meat among themselves and then coach Burkhard Ziese seized the meat and kept it in the freezer. That was one of the reasons he was chased out of Ghana. Thieves nkoaaa our so called big men. Tweeaaa!!!

  This is a very laudable project and yes it does call for maximum support from the various groups in Ghana to come on board.But I think more could be done in terms of effectiveness.Lets say the Bone area is good for yam and tomatoes farming ,the central the northern regions are also good for grains and so are the other regions too.
  So if my opinion should be considered, every region that is good at something should be supported with everything that would make it successful.At the end of the day certain percentage of the products can be transported across the various prisons for battar trading and the rest to market to be sold.
