BoG injected $1.4 billion in Q1 2025 alone—an aggressive approach relative to the size of Ghana’s economy is not sustainable.
China on the other hand sets a daily reference rate (the “central parity” or “fix”), around which the yuan is allowed to trade within a narrow band (currently 2%)—this rate sends clear signals to the market about policy intention. Ghana has yet to send a clear intention as its instruments are not in alignment compared with China

If the BOG can sustain it's intervention, why not? We are losing some of the gains. Prices of some goods have started going up. The earlier some thing is done the better.

Have you asked yourself why the government imposed a whopping 14.8% tariff on electricity even in during the period the cedi was appreciating? It tells you that the government itself did not believe in the appreciation.

Things might look a bit better now because gold & cocoa prices are good, what happens when both go south?

An economy is built on concrete foundations, we all as a nation must accept our responsibility to sacrifice a little hardship so we can build from the ground up rather than the temporary fixes which have failed us so many years.

This guy is empty with regards to economics and finance. China rather devalued their currency to boost local manufacturing and exports. This also helps to create jobs and increase foreign investment. Obama in 2013 was fighting china for devaluing their currency and called it cheating. He called on the WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION to sanction China for doing that because China was attracting all foreign investment leaving the rest behind.
I believe the Cedi productive value is 15 because when it was around that value there were a lot of dollars in the country and easily accessible. It shouldn’t go beyond 15 to a dollar.
