Ghanaians are not allowed to do retail business in Nigeria. True or false. It’s true, why is it that Nigerians are allowed to do retail businesses here in Ghana? Ecowas treaty does not allow citizens to travel and settle freely in member countries and do business. First one must apply for a resident permit before starting to do any business.

Ghanaian traders are too wicked when it comes to customer exploitations. They want to make huge profit within a short term which is bad for business. Most import cheap products from the zoo and want to sell it at high prices and some even more than high quality ones and when they lose customers then they start to blame zoogerian traders who sell at relatively cheaper prices. Wicked people.

To all those criticizing GUTA and Ghana retailers mind you if the retails market is captured by foreigners who will lose in the end.?It’s your sons, daughters and family members. Remember also the government is too broke to provide jobs to the extent that it can’t even employ more nurses with about seventy thousand of them awaiting posting. And the sad thing is that thousands are graduating from our tertiary institutions every year so who will employ all these people. Let’s protect the little market we have until it’s too late. That Chinese malls springing up everywhere should be a wake call to our authorities that a time will come they drive out all our brothers and sisters doing petty trading from the streets and you can imagine what unemployment can lead to. A word to the wise is ….

My Brother's and Sisters, we seem not to understand the issue at hand here and yet we are only blaming the Ghanaian Business community. From customs to immigration to passport office to register general, and even the Metropolitan Assemblies. Every place is full of corrupt that the Ghanaian business community has no choice than to push the whole burden on the ordinary consumer at the end of the day
If we all will join hands and do the right thing, this country will get better. How can a foreign Business person borrow at the bank at a percentage of 2% annually whiles the Ghanaian Business borrows at 36% annually and you feel they can compete in terms of pricing?

Why can't Ghana government increase tax and generate more revenue from fellow Nigerians, because these people run the business with huge amount of money, but only problem is that they are not formalized it and compete in informal sectors, unlike Nigeria where Nigerien have provisions shops but just few of them have huge capital and big shops like Nigerians.
