Jesus Christ loves you and wants to save you from sin and its consequences. Vanity upon vanity—everything in this world is meaningless without Him. He died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Believe in Him, accept His gift of forgiveness, and receive eternal life! (John 3:16).khvfd

And this dude works at BOG and he has no sense. Tell me how a currency which appreciates 40% in 2 months is healthy for the overall economy. Not only does it hurt exports which any country needs in order to have a functioning healthy economy, it also hurts remittances which makes up about 5% of Ghanas GDP and many Ghanaians depend on, and tourism which the country is trying to use to boost the economy. No wonder Ghana is such a mess.

A strong cedi is not in the interest of Ghana. A country that imports practically everything should have a managed currency. BOG is supporting the currency with reserves which will be limited in nature.

Some prices came down, iron rod came down from 9700 to 6400. We didn't have the patience for the market to respond. We need a stable economic environment. It's unfortunate that the cedi has started deprecating again, it affects working capital negativity. Money made through those exports would be spent on high cedi expenditures. Whether deprecation or appreciation, some businesses would be negatively affected.

Cedi gains are great ONLY if merchants adjust their prices accordingly. Unfortunately; in Ghana this doesn’t tend to be the outcome.
