Exporters, which generate huge amounts of forex for the country are going out of business because of this foolish tactic. Government revenues have dried up forcing new round of tax grabbing, exporting businesses are laying workers off into the streets because they cannot continue, importers are running at top speed forcing the country to rely on imports, this process is an astounding own goal!

Contrary to your wild claim that exporters' revenue has been slashed by 42%, Ghana's total exports actually grew by 6.4% year-on-year in December 2024, reaching $1.83 billion. Additionally, the country's trade surplus stood at $4.98 billion at the end of 2024, driven by a sharp rise in gold exports. In April 2025, exports surged to $9.33 billion, thanks to strong performances in gold and cocoa. These figures indicate that exporters have not been decimated as claimed. Instead, they continue to play a vital role in generating foreign exchange for the country.
