Ghana's leading oil marketing company, Star Oil, has revised its ex-pump prices for the second time in the second pricing window of August 2025.

The new rates took effect at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025.

According to the company’s official website, the adjustment is due to global Brent crude price movements and the strength of the local currency, the cedi, against the US dollar.

Under the revised pricing, Star Oil is now selling at:

• Super XP: GH¢12.77 per litre, up from the previous rate, although some outlets are expected to retail at GH¢11.97.

• Diesel: GH¢13.45 per litre, with certain stations pricing it lower at GH¢12.70.

• RON 95: unchanged at GH¢14.68 per litre.

Star Oil explained that while international gasoline prices have risen, coupled with low domestic stock levels, it decided to maintain the price of RON 95 to ensure stability in the market.

Meanwhile, some other OMCs have not revised their pump prices.

With the first pricing window of September 2025 set to commence in the coming days, market watchers and analysts are projecting a further drop in fuel prices as the cedi continues to appreciate in value.
