Ghana is very lucky to have such a talented Minister for finance that takes the Job serious. The NDC started from a long way back ,To bring the country back from where it started ...so given time, debt will be reduced.. but you have to pay outstanding debt like contractors to get road maintenance started again
and some people haven't been paid for months by the previous Government and the theft that is being uncovered is mind boggling to say the least.....It will take 12 months
to put things right again, and there is a need for patience,....Keep the lid on
Government spending...is the key, dont spend money you haven't got... .Debt reduction will happen in due process am sure.

The state of Ghana has big debts. The "restructuring" entailed forcing creditors to give up some of their claims and exchanging the rest in to longer term government bonds. That some creditors still have not accepted this, is actually a big problem. The condition creditors have set, is that all other creditors must accept the same "haircut", as the former government nicely put it. If only one is paid in full, all others have to be paid in full.
This killed a similar deal Argentina tried to make some years back. It must have the governments full focus.

Can't get my way clear. Is the Fitch report referring to restructuring negotiated in October 2024 or eurobonds contracted in October 2024? Dr. Ato, please help me.
