Any news or suggestion from IMF to an African nation is hypocritical. I hate these idiots destroying Africa through useless non-thinking leaders.

I will not be surprised IF the Ghc 1.00 levy is to pay off IMF loan over a certain period. They NEVER advise or recommend ANY government to recover stolen monies but keep giving more that doesn't make economic sense. They and the World Bank have given Ghana billions of dollars for the past 30 years.. The 6th largest producer of gold in the world and we keep taking economic advice from these thieves??

How come both NDC and NPP have never told Ghanaians the interest we pay on those plenty loans? Why is it a secret? Why are they hiding it from us?

Julie you are assuming this is the only tax Ghanaians are paying on petrol. Below is the list of taxes on petrol.
Energy Fund Levy, Sanitation and Pollution Levy, Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy, Energy Sector Levy, Special Petroleum Tax, Road Fund Levy, Energy Debt Recovery Levy, Energy Sector Shortfall and Debt Repayment Levy. Then they pay VAT: A standard 15% Value Added Tax, NHIL, GETFL, and CHRL.
Why are they still paying for Covid-19? If none of these prior taxes pays for the debt, why isn’t the IMF probing to know where that money goes?
This clearly shows the IMF encouraging the abuse of the average tax payer in Ghana and that is an insult to democracy.

IMF’s main mandate is to ensure the ordinary African is poor. Their 2nd mandate is to ensure African countries are drowned in debts. Every decision and advise is based on this ideology.

Review All Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) — Ghana Deserves Value for Money.
It is time for a comprehensive review of all Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed on behalf of the Ghanaian people. The reality is hard to ignore — most of these contracts are not delivering value for money. They are a key reason why our national debt stock keeps rising, and yet ordinary Ghanaians are asked to shoulder the burden through increased taxes and tariffs.
Yes, citizens must play their part by paying taxes, but those taxes must not be used to cover inefficient or poorly negotiated contracts. Every agreement signed in the name of Ghana must serve the people of Ghana.
At the same time, we must ask hard questions about how we are benefiting from our natural wealth — oil, gold, diamonds, bauxite, manganese, and other resources. For decades, these minerals have been extracted from our soil, but what has been the return for the average Ghanaian?
Are our communities better off?
Are our schools, hospitals, and roads being built with those revenues?
Are we investing in future generations or simply enriching a few today?
Ghana is not poor — it is resource-rich but system-poor. To move forward:
We must demand accountability
We must insist on transparency in resource contracts.
We must ensure value-for-money in every national agreement, especially in the energy sector, the debt burden is too huge.

With all the education Ghanaian leaders have gained, it is still the highly exploitative and destructive IMF & World Bank that dictate to them how to manage our energy sector. And it is very sad and disappointing.

Here we go again folks. This same IMF instructed Mahama to freeze employment during his first term and that has bedeviled the Ghanaian youth since then till date. Here we go again with another devilish directive from the same source. Did we vote for a better government to execute pragmatic policies to bring us relevant reliefs or we voted for throat cutting decisions from IMF to keep us in perpetual and abominable suffering. Do they do same to the Westerners. Such annoyances .

Even primary school pupils knows the IMF and the World Bank are nothing but corrupt organisations put in place by the greedy wicked and highly corrupt white man to sabotage and destroy the economies of Africa and all non white nations. The IMF, WORLD BANK, ICC, UN, WHO, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, ICJ and the super corrupt save the children international organisation were built on colonialism, exploitation and human rights abuse by the evil white man and it's about time Africa cuts and aproots all ties with these corrupt institutions. The white man was not born to lead anything, but to trick, steal, corrupt, exploit, loot, manipulate and destroy. Go see a doctor and a therapist if you trust anything the white man tells you.
