@Sycamore,1:1 exchange rate will do nothing to change your miserable life,Ghana will still be a poor country meaning many average businesses will struggle to even pay a paltry 200ghc salary a month(200 usd when the exchange rate is 1:1),most especially when gold and cocoa exports and even T-roll are controlled by the dollar, what Ghana needs is currency stability as the economy grows, you dont understand the ghanaian economy better than the one handling it,Mahama is right 10 is "ok" if stable

Mr. President. One of the factors of your success so far is prudent macro and micro economic management where fiscal and monetary policies are once again functioning independently as checks and balances. The moment you start making comments like this you undermine the market forces and your government begins to give way to over regulation and socialism. Kindly allow the market forces to work with prudent and just necessary regulation or interference. Let the market set the exchange rate either Ghc1. To $1.0 or Ghc20 to $1.0 that depends on the good or bad performance of the economy and it is not you to determine autocratically.

I can now see that the cedi's appreciation is a worry to our president. Can I make an inference that it is not the doing of aban papa but it is the results of world market forces that the dollar is depreciating. I heard the governor of BoG saying sometime that market forces has caused the cedi to appreciate.
1:1 is what we need. We've suffered for too long. Africa must rise.

Mahama, the current Cedi situation had never been your effort. The world on some conditions propelled US to the highest degree to rely upon for defence. The current US administration seeking or more inward looking, the world systematically withdrawing support had drastically reduced the strength of Dollar against world currencies. Cedi has no strength as such to be filled with complacency to peg it anyhow. Speculation now is meaningless. Let us wait to observe how Dollar would bounce back to the international stage. Wait and see. Be careful not to laugh then cry or be disturbed at last.

Gonja mafia John Mahama QNET led govt is engaging in Akancide.
He is implementing Kofi Awonor's doctrine. At the same time, he has created Northern - volta hegemony.
He has packed the judiciary and all state institutions with his kinsmen, friends, family and those who have the right names.
The gonja mafia john Mahama is a tribal bigot.
Why is the dollar going for one to 16 Cedis for passport application and at the ports?
Disclaimer : John Mahama and Isaac Adongo were the first to ever call a sitting president Akyem Mafia.

Those who want the dollar to go further down should understand that such will warrant a reduction in salaries of workers in export driven productions companies. The equation must balance for a sustainable job creation. Take for example if my capacity is 50T per production cycle and I have 200 workers, and I sell my product for $5 on the international market, know that previously I will receive a return of GHS85 (when dollar was 17GHS), now my returns has dropped to GHS50. There certainly will be a funding gap of GHS35 per unit.
Ask ya’ll self seeking for GHS1:1$ where the workers will be if the cedi gains that much strength ?
As a prudent measure, I will have to sack some workers to make up for the funding gap at worst, or reduce salaries, or increase production using same workers (out of the option since more funding will be required).
So yes, Mr president is right and the team advising him are sound technocrats. The export market needs to be protected likewise the local markets, so finding a balance in production, export and currency exchange is key to sustaining industries and job sustenance.
