  Sir, it is very serious with the banks. The charges are outrageous. I banked with Stanbic and they do a lot of deductions which are making it uncomfortable for people to keep money at the bank. If you have funds with them by the time you realised they have taken all the money through these charges, GHS60 for service fees, GHS 15, SMS alerts, GHS 15 email alert, GHS 60 Visa Card fees all these monies going out of the accounts every month. Worse is they won't tell you all these charges when opening the accounts. It is ridiculous and even worse is that when you take money from another ATM, they will take several months and later will be making illegal deductions in the name of using other banks ATM , meanwhile they are all visa ATM and we still paying ATM card charges. I have accounts with UK banks and I am not charged any fees. BOG needs to look at these issues because that discourages a lot of people opening bank accounts. The banks are crooks using these tactics to make profit.

  Another Bank is Standard Chartered Bank. Even before the E-levy was removed, they were charging Bank transfer tax from own Account to own Momo. And transfer tax from own account to another Momo account with to E-levy. Transfer from own accounts within the Bank free.
  
  They also charge maintenance fee for visa debit cards and bank charges every month. Why should I pay for visa card maintenance fees whilst in the UK StanChart it is free. Why Ghana?

  7 cedis and a 1%charge on when I withdraw from my bank account to my wallet. They used to charge me for making deposit from my momo wallet to my very own bank account! If this is robbery and a form of extortion.
