THE RESISTANCE OF SOME POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES AGAINST THE RETIREMENT AGE BEING MOVED TO 65 SHOWS HOW IGNORANT SOME GHANAIAN GRADUATES ARE. MOST GHANAIAN GRADUATES GET EMPLOYED LATE ESPECIALLY IN THIER 40S AND 50S THUS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CONTRIBUTE SUBSTANTIALLY TO THEIR PENSIONS FOR THEIR SURVIVAL AFTER RETIREMENT. INCREASING THE RETIREMENT AGE WILL HELP PEOPLE WHO GET EMPLOYED LATE IN THEIR CAREER. WHAT WE SHOULD DO IS TO ADVOCATE FOR MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES TO ABSORB THE EVER INCREASING JOB SEEKERS. THERE IS NO LOGIC IN SAYING RETIREES ARE BLOCKING YOUR CHANCE OF GETTING EMPLOYED.

This suggestion may have a dangerous downside. Artisans will become outrageously expensive to engage. If a plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry job can take four hours to complete, how can the customer know this and prepare such wages for the job.with the level of greed in the country, the artisans will have a field day of extortions.a four hour job will be done for two or three days since the customers will be clueless of how long it takes to do the job.no artisan will ever,e.g if he could fix your door lock in an hour, will rather play games and complete it in 12 hrs and you got to pay for that hrs. they will screw us all. If we implement this system,Lord have mercy, nobody can ever rent in Ghana, except rich people.rent will also be determined on an hourly bases for the number of years one intends staying in a house.lets be very careful...because that hourly rate for rent, will be a monster and diabolical. It's going to be a sum of all artisanal work done (a minimum of 16 artisanal skills are needed for each building) minus foreman, architect, engineer etc rates...all these are going to be factored in determining the hourly rent rate for renters. Trust me this must be shelved immediately if we believe in affordable housing.

This policy should cover both private and public sector workers. Failure to obey this policy and employees sent their employers to court they should be awarded what they deserve without foolish lawyers taken bribes

This suggestion of possibly introducing hourly rate for the first time in the Labour market in this country of course isn't such a bad idea at all. In addition, the systematic monthly salary that's been around for decades should also be taken into consideration and make some adjustments. In my opinion, bi-weekly payment system should also be introduced into our society because that could solve some problems associated with poverty in the country. In conclusion, is this bad for Smale-scale businesses?

Best idea so far. All the developed world paid hourly. It's only in Ghana I see this daily pay.. It will help us develop quicker. Most worker shows up late and finished early because it is not hourly rate

Yes, hourly wages will be great for Ghana to eliminate poverty. If works better in the Western World why Ghana can't lead Africa to adopt such a payment system.

That's the best. It will drive hard work in Ghana and motivate investment. But governments have to purge themselves for this to happen. The ordinary Ghanaian can't be working hard only for the politicians to be stealing. The gold and all the natural resources belong to everyone in Ghana and not for only politicians. I don't know who will serve common sense to put Labour in the right footing. Even the individual behavior of Ghanaians need to be reset to realise this.

Also this should be the minimum hourly pay and NON TAXABLE. Also no overtime work is allowed at the pilot implementation stage. Got ideas?
This is long overdue
