Why are these conflicting messages about dollar withdrawal over the counter? Adongo says one thing and the Governor of BOG says the opposite. Do they not meet to discuss issues before bringing them out for public consumption? This brings lack of confidence in the public about their leaders . Every sector should have one spokesman to liaison with the public so that they avoid giving conflicting news to the public. It looks like every body wants their voices heard because if they don’t talk , they will be seen like they are not performing. Leaders shouldn’t be giving conflicting information to the public.

A board member's role is non-executive and must stay away from issuing any policies/directives to the public.

Is there empirical evidence to back your claim that such a policy is beat for our economy??? Let me draw your mind to something here; many of the people who have dollar accounts are not speculators. There are very few “significant” speculators in Ghana . Importers represent a big portion of those who hold FX accounts. Also, those who want to preserve their wealth . These two groups of people will hardly withdraw their hard currency FX to go make transactions such as purchase of a car or house etc.

Most likely, they’d have the funds transferred to a beneficiary account if they ever needed to make a transaction. If that is the case, why create unnecessary panic by announcing something which hardly even happens anyway? Totally unnecessary. The mishap in communication will even prevent many from further depositing their FX in the banks. And we are in a time where we need more people to bring their FX into the banking system so we can shove up our reserves

China is in 2025. All the capital for infrastructural growth can be raised through the treasury bill market.

We can do this. We, have great economist on the continent.

We have cheap labor and the skills to get the task done.

We should always look to China, as an example.

Arise Africa, forward looking, backwards never.

This should be our 10 year economic plan-2035.
