  What happened when MinCOM took over Bogoso Prestea.It was good intentions but no funds to maintain operation Let's make sure a proper business plan is Putin place and all stakeholders are happy.Who is going to cater for all existing liabilities.Beinh an ex Manager is different from running a mine.Explain Bogoso Prestea what is happening mining is not only Goldfields you know.

  Look at former state goldmines which were under Government direct control. What was the end results.
  They can treat tailings while exploring for new gold stock and this is cost and expertise. The stock run out once occurred I learnt before a new belt was discovered and has run out as being put out.
  The cost implications of running the mine ,can our current IMF programme allow borrowing to finance operations.....

  So it is capital intensive. Better then to sell the mine to local consortium for them to seek funding than Government running the mine.

  This mining company ( TARKWA GOLDFIELDS) run by our OWN people collapsed and had to bought by GOLD FIELDS OF SOUTH AFRICA FOR TWO MILLION D9LLARS THROUGHT LATE KOJO TSIKATA during the PNDC regimn.

  Thieves! Government will run it down! When Government ever run a commercial business successfully? I hate this government and their socialist agenda. We have a history here in Ghana that governments can't run a successful commercial business so why this government heed that advice and rather find a private firm to run whilst they concentrate on their main mandate of regulating the industry. The conflict of interest is so high there will be so many scandals arising if the government goes ahead and runs it.

  It seems that the Government refused to renew the contract and lease so that this mine would form the base for the Gold Board operations.
  The establishment of the Gold Board and termination of the lease and it's non- renewal seems too co-incidental. The Gold Mining Company is very experienced in the Gold mining laws and therefore knows what is required of them to have their lease renewed
  
  There is no other way to have a firm and guaranteed source of gold for the Gold Board operations other than have an already operating gold mine.
  The existing small scale miners can't be trusted irrespective of Gold Board Act. Gold smuggling can't be stopped. The Gold Act is not going to let that happen. There is no monitoring mechanism to ascertain the output of the Gold miners especially those doing galamsey.
