What is left out, however, is a mention of an establishment of an African Commodities Futures Trading Comm ...

I agree with the strategies outlined by JDM to capture the commanding heights of The Continent.
What is left out, however, is a mention of an establishment of an African Commodities Futures Trading Commission( ACFTC) akin to the Commodities Futures Trading Commission( CFTC) of the USA. The only financial vehicle which gives some semblance of revenue and cost certainty to producers and end of users of commodities...be it corn, millet, gold, cocoa, etc through futures trading. .talking about hedging to the basis.
Tragically..
The Continent is the only market without this financial architecture which ironically trades all the commodities it produces in the world.
And,
Please while we are it leave out those so-called " development partners" they're up to good no matter how you slice it.. done enough damage already.
As I write China has it's man at the helm of The AU.

Discerning minds know China made possible the election of the former foreign minister of Djibouti as the President of The African Union.
