  The onward bank rate in both Gh./Nigeria is a reflection of the thinking that goes on in this proverbial box literate Africans put their head in(Prof Lumumba) broken down means having a colonial mentality(Mr Fela) a century or so when colonization was at full speed the colonial masters tried introducing a unified currency(the Ackey)to aid in efficient administration of their holdings on the Sub Region and the very First Banks catered to the Business side of the enterprise the other two, is Government and the Administration of Justice(Chinua Achebe)
  Providing Banking services to their merchants who brought manufactured products extending such services to the Local merchants was not part of their undertakings, so the Locals had to work really hard to connect to the Mainmarkets in Western Capitals, Then came Independence

Dr Nkrumah head huntered expats to help out but it couldn't work out because of major irreconcilable difference mainly ideological. Our academicians like to blame this failure of the Locals to manage their economy successful on some supposedly underhand manovours of the departing Colonial Administrators when infact they were out of their depth when it came to weathering the storm and difficult times

  Deciding to go Independent brings to any new Nation. The plot was lost when the People decided to go off script deciding to use force to overthrow the constitution and as we all know the pen is mightier than the sword which is an aberration what happened afterwards is what the late Journo Onyeka in her documentary tasked the coming generation to clean up. In Conclusion the unrealistic lending rate regime being practiced by both Gh./Ni9eria is a response to the decision/indecision by Official and the people to hand over control of their economy to manufactures and suppliers outside

  The growth in population means more mouths to feed(more imports) and since the only way Locals pay for these imports is via the exportation of primary commodities which hardly keeps up with the growth in population, an increasing amounts of Local currency is needed to meet these importation needs a process that distorts the Local Economy. Finding a solution to this anomaly is the cross the youth of today must carry just as obtaining political independence was the cross our forebears bore during the olden days

  On the journey whereby a People and their Officialdom learn to Govern themselves, it's imperative for the people to understand that progress and a better standard of living can only come to them when they themselves learn to hold Officialdom accountable for their welfare because in this Human History of ours it's not Natural for those at the top of the pecking order to extend whatever you call it a ladder/hand to those at the lower side
