OMG. The moment I saw the article, the first thing that came to my mind was Dr Kwame Nkrumah. I honestly believe Ghana would be competing globally in anything and everything SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY based.

I hope and pray we would have some intelligent leaders to help us catch up. We have lost ground but we still can catch up with the right leaders with the right mindsets, the right policies,the right preparation and the right investments.

Now, the Japanese are coming to help us build what?
Why don`t we go back to where we left off and revive that our national mechanical engineering dream?
Personally, it continues to beat my mind why our leaders over the years continually remain outward-looking instead of inward-looking?
Can`t we do somethings on our own as a people?
Leadership, is our main problem and we must cease electing and appointing fools and incompetent and dangerously corrupt individuals to man our national affairs.
We have emerged as people who cannot, on our own, manage our national affairs for the betterment of us all and it is gravely sad and concerning.

Why can't KNUST collaborate with Kumasi Magazine to put initiate their book worm scientific knowhow into good use? Please, allow the government policy on automobile to flourish before you such educated illiterates collapse this policy. Presently, Legon university is collaborating with Japan motors to get this policy on its feet. So.......get your ass off the stage.

Foolish Kwame Dagadu, may be you are just a kid on the block.
We have had Neoplan Assembly Plant, VW Assembly Plant, Toyota Assembly Plant, Audi (Kowus Motors) Sales & Assembly Plant, etc, etc. But none helped us.
Why we lack the "do it yourself" spirit among us remains a mystery.
We have been there many times with Asian & European Companies promising us all sorts of things, but look at us now?
It is time we build on our own no matter how long it takes else, we will continually go to IMF & World Bank begging for loans.
Local production creates jobs and that is the way coupled severest punishments for any act of corrupt practices.

Ghanaians should be grateful to the Gov't for being proactive for TEVT & Digital education for the next generation of home grown engineers who will build & develop the country to the 21st century modernisation. The Gov't should put our priority on Engineering, Digitisation, Design,& Construction, Plumbing, Gas Technicians & Road Engineers . Gov't Scholarships should be given to students doing the above subjects. Education Ministry should start at the foundation level & grow with them as it's done in Germany and other Scandinavian countries.
