The lecturers really failed by not being able to impact the social contract part that education is meant to instill in a Country's young people. In the spirit of independence pioneers such as Dr Aggrey Coins the Quote*if you educate a man you educate an individual and when you educate a woman you educate a nation* the best prosperity gospel i've heard so far and it was cooked right here in Ghana. The social contract between the people and officialdom of the new republic was something to the agreement between the main character in one of Achebes book and his Kin who did a collective of funds for him to go and study Law overseas with the expectation that with his newly acquired knowledge, he will be better placed to defend and protect the Rights of his folks in a New Nation taking it's baby steps. Official is failing to honour it's end of the bargain mainly because the tools the contributors used to hold the main character accountable is lost in the mase of activities that are undertaken to forge a Nation, so much to the extent that the mode of production(Choosing how to provide the citizens with the products they need to make life bearable(Produce/Import) and the ramification of such a choice

Doesn't appear to be a concern for them but means everything to the ordinary Ghanaian or ordinary Nigerian, who is yet to be taught what is means to be Ghanaian/ Ni9erian,what codes of conduct they must possess to meaningfully play their part in the Nation Building exercise and finally how to stop being a subject(Most West African are still subjects to their Traditional Rulers) and taking up the cross of a responsible citizen with a successful Nation Building demands. Many Country's have been able to take a leap as our Prez. asserted and he Believes Africans can also do it.Am a varender boy in the field of Social and Political science so i encourage rightly educated Ghanaians/Ni9erians to start putting out the Practices,Duties and Norms of what makes one a committed Ghanaian/Ni9erian
