BoG has decided to focus on ceremonial things, when what the people want is main market. Most West Africans can't point to a single economic policy that is binding that they can rally around to achieve the scale necessary for the Region to become a significant player. The natural choice of such a policy is a common currency to be used across the sub Region this has material benefits the chief among them is the unification of our various segmented markets automatically setting the standards across board concerning how things must be done

Agreeing for a single currency will mean all the various Central Bankers of the Country's in the sub region will have to work in a single office space creating a very strong entity discarding the duties of an institution responsible for formatting policy for a single economic block apart from the savings to be accrued from administrative cost in running more than a dozen and half countries, the message the Ecowas will be sending to their individual citizens and the outside world will that they have gotten to the stage of human development where the collective interest of the broader group is paramount to the individual interest.A common currency comes with a uniform bankrate, the other benefit of this endeavour will provide

The opportunity for both the ordinary West African citizen and the Leaders to take a fresh look at improving upon the system they've use to making money available for their people. At present it can't be said that the monetary system in the Region is friendly to most of it's inhabitants apart from it's artificially high cost, access to it is nearly impossible due to the bureaucracy involve(illiteracy)as evidence of this failure is the poverty on the Sub Region my candid opinion is that officialdom might not have meant it to be this way for most of their people considering the depth and superiority of the legacy of being rendering colonials(Dr Abu Sakara)the realization, i mean by both officialdom and ordinary West Africans will mean better policies will have to fostered and adopted in all the sectors, from the right to adequate housing, access to business credit and all other forms of consumer lending will be done with the aim of empowering the citizens to be successful

After printing so much money and distributing to government functionaries who have stacked cash under their beds without knowing how to use them, they are finding another means to convert the stolen monies to gold. It was this stupid decision to print cash that destroyed our economy. Leave the gold alone. Thieves, looters and nation wreckers.
