GHACEM was established in 1968 so was not established by Nkrumah. It was Ghanaian Norwegian company. . GIHOC was formed after Nkrumah to put all the corporations under one umbrella.

Was he not in Ghana when under the NDC Mahama revamped that facility only for Akuffo Addo to come ground it for no reason? He did so to boost the deal of importing refined fuel which will enrich his cronies.
Then again the writer overlooked Tema Food Complex ( TFC ) which produced most of our cereals including flour.

Some of the comments below made funny ready; it seems as Ghanaians we don't read or we read every piece with political biased. Most of the Kwame Nkrumah factories were either collapsed or closed down by none other person than Kofi Abrefa Busia between 1969-1972. Busia hated Nkrumah so much that he wanted annihilate anything Nkrumah until he was overthrown by Col. Acheampong who later became a General.
From 1972 until 1979 when Rawlings struck most of these State owned Enterprises are almost dead as a result of passive investment into them. For instance Juapong Textiles was making any profit and government had to support it, all State Hotels were all recording loses since the 70s bcoz the managers of those hotels will bring their girl friends and family and friends to eat and drink without paying a pesewa; Star Hotel, Greenwich Hotel, Ambassador hotel, City hotel in Kumasi, Continental hotel were all posting loses and government was paying salaries and pping money into their running so what do you want the government at the time to do? Didn't Kufour collapse Ghana Airways? Do you know why?
Ghana Airways was owing so much that it's aircraft were being impounded in Europe bcoz government officials will fly it without paying for their fares; Ministers under Kufour will travel with their whole family and Bill the State for their flights. We as a people are incorrigible; we destroy anything State. We like free things too much. Why did Kufour sell Ghana Telecoms?
NPP has been worse selling State properties.
