I thought ECG was so profitable that Akuffo Addo and Bawumia were ordering the PURC to reduce the tariff some years ago. What has happened? What politics of deceit can do

Only a coup d'etat can bring the thieves to book and deter those who are waiting on the reserve bench for their turn to plunder.

It is true that this situation requires the need for introspection beyond tariff adjustment.
The exhaustibles have depletion rent which increases with depletion. When businesses located in the cedi region design to conduct business in dollars, the exchange rate cannot be arrested.
The wind does not send invoices let alone dollar ones and the sun does not listen to political leaders.
The emphasis therefore must be on cost reduction to make power affordable. Inability to afford is the roof cause of theft and illegal connection.
Engineers need to innovate and drive costs down while governement regulate to ensure normal profits not ripoffs.
