  Water is indeed power. Remember the spilling of the Akosombo Dam. This water comes from the Red Volta River. That River is the border to Burkina Faso. If you dredge a channel from the Red Volta, upper Volta River, down to the farm land to irrigate, it will lessen the pressure on the Akosombo Dam a bit, but farming will be great in the North. Tamale has also a big problem with Water supply for the population. Solve it.
