  The first day I saw Chinese men and ECG workers removing the old meters and installing the new meters in my house,I knew something was wrong, because regardless Ghanaians owned Chinese gvmt they’ll do anything to exploit us

  This is very true the rate at which the electricity units bought deplete is alarming . All the utility providers are cheating on customers , same happening when you buy airtime . Consumer protection Agency is toothless .

  With post paid customers too,ECG doesn't come to take meter readings but always give us estimated bills every month.

  If a customer uses less I are made to pay same amount every month n our a period of time they will bring a huge amount fr us to pay as bills adjustments thousands of cedis
  Why ECG??
  When u go to their office at the district level all they say is everything is done in Accra
  ECG is really making hell for Ghanaians

  I had a similar issue. I had 140gh worth of credit on the meter and I woke up the next day to owe -33,000gh worth of credit. I went to the office and this silly guy I met started making noise without listening to me “ Go and pay, you use AC but you guy 100gh with of the credit “ when he hasn't been to my house before. They printed out my purchase against my consumption for thr past three years and then did the calculation. The debt now came to 9000gh after the calculation. I was then told to pay the 9000 in three months instalment. Since I needed light and it has gone off for three days, I had to pay 300gh for a meter replacement as they claim the meter was not reading right. Guess what? They changed the meter and it was running as the old meter. I often monitor my consumption so I know how much I use per money on light. God has been someone who helped to do further verification from ECG and the good Lord cancelled my debt. Now when I called them they said I have a balance of 500 on thr system but when I checked at my end it's 170gh. Its a problem from ECG and not thr individual. How can you owe from a prepaid meter? Your light goes off when u run out of credit, when it doesn't u is deducted when u make purchases.
