  Investing in Ghana is a crime. The moment you invest in Industry be ready for GRA to be on your necks. Industries are their favourite targets because now they have property they can seize and threaten you with. They have no clue how to broaden the tax net and prefer to keep attacking tax payers who are already paying instead of those that are unregistered and pay no taxes.

  I warned this issues many times that the big industries will move to neighbor countries, the taxes are high and foreigners are only used to bring their investments inside,once settled the nightmares starts...all means to let foreigners run away leaving their investments is the goal. The government didn't implant protection for foreign investors, defrauding or abusive methods to make you pay are all in the system. So if this keep going ghana will never upgrade their industrialization and will be forced to keep local vendors struggle to provide nation wide which is also a problem because the duty fees are one of the most expensive in whole West Africa. Economically Ghana need to change in full gear if not it will go down

The sad part is that the government misapply a chunk of the revenue generated and the staff have also learned to fleece the people. Ghana dey be!!!

  So what is the harassment, is it asking them to pay due taxes? Tax collection is never a pleasant thing, even in biblical days. Uncle Sam is not a pleasant thing to deal with. This is how to run an efficient economy. Once what is being asked for is not illegitimate, leave them to do their job. If our taxes are too much, they can pack and go. Taxes are the earnings of the government. We should not starve government of its funds.

  I have a non profit organization [NGO] operating soley in Ghana. We employ 20 Ghanaians, and spend 40,000gh monthly locally [of our internationally donated money].
  We provide 100% of our efforts and monies to bless Ghana. We have no income. We provide our own personal and donated funds in doing our part for the economy. We dig free boreholes for communities.
  We pay employment taxes and countless other fees to stay here and bless Ghana.
  Considering it all, we get no breaks, get no concessions, and struggle to be a blessing. Ghana is short sighted in this respect. The Government is not appreciative toward foreign investment.
