Do you people have the machinery to effect the ban? You NPP folks import rice more than anybody in this country, and our liar vice President took 10,000 bags from non Npp person for salaka.

This ban is long overdue, it should have come earlier than this.
But once the ban is in place now , good. But the challenge is how to enforce the ban is critical and I suggest all MMDCEs etc should be empowered to work toget ...

This ban is long overdue, it should have come earlier than this.
But once the ban is in place now , good. But the challenge is how to enforce the ban is critical and I suggest all MMDCEs etc should be empowered to work together with the law enforcement agencies in the various districts especially where corn is grown to ensure no corn or grain leaves the districts through the approved and unapproved border routes. Burkina people are able to enter Ghana , move to maize growing zones and dictate the price and thus shoots the maize prices over the roof making it impossible for Ghanaians to afford. Because of the high prices the Burkinabes offer , our own Ghanaians move their corn across there to sell to them . That’s one of the major factors that is Accounting for the high maize prices off-late in the country especially in the Northern part of the Country.
I don’t think any Ghanaian can just walk to Burkina Faso and enter their villages and start buying maize, But Ghanaians have allowed them to enter our country to do that . We need to sit up as a country to let this ban work because if it works prices are likely to come down a bit because demand will not far outweigh supply.

The government should rather buy it at a good price from the farmers and distribute it effectively. They have placed huge taxes on farm equipments and imports and expect us to suddenly lose our investments.

Now they will just help collapse the little farmers got. This export ban is stupid. So where do they intend to import the grain from? They want to improve lives of farmers in other countries and make farmers in Ghana poorer.

If there are food shortages let's eat the cocoa we have been investing all our money into. We are told cocoa is everything to us as if other farm produce is nothing. We spend a lot in supporting cocoa farmers while neglecting farmers who actually feed us, including the cocoa farmer. Hope our leaders will see that the nation benefits more from food producers than cocoa farmers.
