Everything changed with the STC when a certain big thief, 10% castle kickbacks, landed from the Ashanti Region assume the tutelage of the country.

Ghana Governments were on record to have bought stronger, sustainable and well-built SETRA buses from Kassbohrer in Germany. Kufuor changed it because he must make his automatic kickbacks from the cheap buses from Brazil and Korea.

Marco Polo cars were serviced by Mark Coffie back in the 70s but STC never used their buses which were very much smaller to the SETRA buses. Over time, Marco Polo even lost it's qualitative urge.

Ghana had special business bond with Kassbohrer long before some of us were born, and their buses were completely stable. The change came only because Kufuor's government officials' consistent money crave and stealing, otherwise, why do you change anything good for an inferior one, especially if it's for public good?
