Indian delegation holds talks on join ventures

Accra, Nov. 7, GNA - An Indian delegation has held talks with a team of Ghanaians on ways to boost business cooperation and possibilities of joint ventures in the manufacture of electrical equipment and accessories like cables.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday said the 16-member delegation from the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) hoped the discussions would assist in improving bilateral trade in electrical and power equipment and accessories. The statement issued by the Indian High Commission said there were also possibilities of some joint venture projects in this sector in Ghana between Indian and Ghanaian companies.

The delegation led by Mr Sanjeev Sardana, Chairman of the Exports Division of IEEMA, met the Minister of Communication, Prof. Mike Ocquaye, senior officials of the Volta River Authority and Electricity Company of Ghana.

It also met members of the Association of Ghana Industries and Electrical Contractors Association.

The delegation has since returned home after the visit which was from November 2-5.
