Big ECOBANK gain lifts stock index

Accra, Nov. 7, GNA - A big gain by blue chip ECOBANK Ghana on Tuesday lifted the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) index, although volumes traded hit another low.

The GSE All-Share Index was 5.44 points better at 4,983.43 points from 4,977.99 points on Monday while change for the year went up at 4.50 per cent from 4.38 per cent.

Ecobank Ghana gained 197 cedis at 12,900 cedis and Fan Milk Limited was one cedi better at 16,561 cedis.

Total shares continued to slide at 28,000 from 38,000 shares but market capitalisation jumped to 112,151.35 billion cedis on Monday.
