Some mechanics and spare parts dealers are complaining of high cost of import duties Some mechanics and spare parts dealers are complaining of high cost of import duties

Springs Dealers Association at Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region has disclosed that Suame Magazine is gradually collapsing due to high import duties on spare parts.

In an interview with Abusua Dawuro’s Nana Ama Annor, the Chairman of the Association Mr. Patrick Oppong stated that the spare parts business in the country is no longer lucrative.

He added that high import duties and cedi depreciation is affecting spare parts business which is preventing people from other countries like Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Mali to do business with them.

Mr Oppong therefore appealed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fulfill his promise by scrapping duties on spare parts.
