The police, in collaboration with Jobberman Ghana, has arrested Mr. Cletus Campion also known as Jones Wintam Mensah for defrauding David Kwame Kudzordzi, an unsuspecting jobseeker to the tune of GH¢800.

The victim, Mr. Kudzordzi, was lured by the fraudster, Mr. Campion with the promise of helping him secure employment in a reputable firm that was running an ongoing recruitment process.

Mr. Campion claimed to be a staff at the reputable firm and could help Mr. Kudzordzi secure immediate employment without having to go through the normal recruitment process.

The alleged impostor had also contacted other jobseekers making them the same offer. The other jobseekers alerted the quality assurance team at Jobberman Ghana, which moved to action and notified the Police leading to the arrest of Mr. Campion.

A statement issued by the online recruitment portal said, “in the light of this, Jobberman Ghana is advising all Jobseekers to diligently research any calls or messages for job interviews and screenings as fraudsters are always quick to prey on innocent jobseekers.”

The statement further advised jobseekers not to send mobile money or any form of payments to individuals posing on behalf of organisations.

“Where any jobseeker is in doubt about the authenticity of any job or recruitment process, Jobberman Ghana has requested that emails be sent to fraud@jobberman.com.gh or support@jobberman.com.gh or call 0302550200, 05400998889 to verify,” the statement said.

Jobberman Ghana has in the past warned jobseekers several times from paying any fees to anybody or organizations with the promise of helping them get a job.

“Jobseekers should beware of invitations on behalf of Jobberman to any other premises besides their office at 20a Freetown Ave, American house, East Legon, Accra.

“In a bid to enlighten Jobseekers on the proper steps of how to find a job, Jobberman Ghana will be releasing a guide on how jobseekers can find their dream jobs in the coming days,” the statement concluded
