Bombers coach to attend AIBA workshop

Black Bombers Coach, Ofori Asare has been invited by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) to participate in its AIBA/APB/WSB Coaches’ Instructors’ Workshop to be held 17th – 25th January, 2013 in Assisi, Italy.

The Workshop which is being organized for Top AIBA Coaches is meant to train and certify coaches’ instructors in all three (3) AIBA Programs, namely: AIBA Olympic Boxing (AOB), World Series Boxing (WSB) and AIBA Professional Boxing (APB) for further education of coaches around the World.

This invitation comes at an opportune time as the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation’s major goals of the year include developing its Technical Handlers (both club and national level) and Officiating Officials. With AIBA’s revolutionary Professional Boxing program (APB) set to be launched toward the end of 2013, there is the urgent need of qualified coaches to train APB Boxers.

It is envisaged that Coach Asare’s participation will prove very crucial to the Federation’s Objectives, as on return, he will be tasked to train and certify local Ghanaian Coaches at different levels (1star, 2 Star and 3 Star) for the three (3) AIBA Programs.

The Federation registers its gratitude to the National Sports Authority for supporting his participation in the Workshop.
