VIP Boxing bout to hit Kempinski on Saturday

The first-ever VIP Boxing fight night in Africa will be held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

Under the auspices of HeMann Promotions, with support from Azumah Nelson Boxing, the night will showcase boxers from both the local and international front.

HetaMann of HeMann Promotions stated that the purpose of this event is not just to maximise profit but also to revive Ghana boxing and raise the standards.

He added that the bout will also serve as a medium to convey the message of peace ahead of the general elections in November.

President of Ghana Boxing Association (GBA),Peter Zwenes also told the media that the night will be unique, and commended HeMann Promotions and Professor Azumah Nelson for the bout.

There will be a total of six professional fights on the cards on the night.

The curtain raiser for the night will be an exhibition bout between Australia’s Kylie Fulmer and Nigeria Helen Joseph.

In the National Super Middleweight Championship, Emmanuel Amin from Fit-Square Gym will defend his title against Emmanuel Martey, from the AttohQuarshie Gym.

Patrick Okine from the Black Quarshie Gym will fight for the National Super Middleweight title with Benjamin Lamptey from the Akotoku Academy while Black Panther’s SherrifQuaye and Felix Ajom battle for the Super Featherweight title.

The Lightweight Contest will also have Michael Dodoo from the AttohQuarshie Gym and Raphael Kwabena King from the Bronx Boxing Gym fighting for the title while Felix Williams from Ghana will face Waidi Usman from Nigeria for the West Africa Boxing Union (WABU) Super featherweight Championship.
