Two Boxing Coaches to Undergo Training in Italy

Two Ghanaian boxing coaches would travel to Italy in September to undergo a two-month coaching course.

The two coaches, Mr. Peter Sando, a former national middle weight champion and Mr. Kotei Gyani of the Attoh Quashie boxing gym were invited by the Italian Boxing Federation (IBF) at the initiative of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).

Speaking to GNA Sports, Mr. Moses Foh-Amoaning, Vice Chairman of the GBA, said the Authority wrote to the IBF and they agreed to run the course for the coaches.

He said, this is to ensure that the nation produces certified boxing coaches to give proper training to Ghanaian boxers.

Mr. Foh-Amoaning said the GBA is now working on sponsorship deals for the two coaches to enable them make the trip. He said some contacts have been made but they are yet to be finalised.

The GBA Vice Chairman said they would meet with the Minister of Sports to discuss how the ministry can support the two coaches to embark on the course.
