Tri-angular boxing championships for Bolgatanga

Accra, Dec 13, GNA - Dade Boxing Promotions Syndicate is to organise a triangular amateur boxing championships on Friday, December 14 at the Bolgatanga Catholic Social Centre. The one-day event which will involve amateur boxers from the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions is to select boxers for an impending weekly championship.

Gideon Quartey, Chairman of the Accra-based boxing promotion syndicate told the GNA Sports that each region is expected to parade eight boxers for the various weight categories. He explained that the motive behind the championships which is expected to be an annual event is also to embark on a scheme to revive the sport in the three northern regions. Mr Quartey commended Mosac Multimedia Services for supporting the event and appealed to other corporate institutions to support such events in future.
