Robert Easter not ready for Richard Commey rematch

Reigning IBF World lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr. says he would give Richard Commey a rematch if his immediate target to fight WBC World lightweight champion, Mikey Garcia, who last Saturday added the IBF World super lightweight belt to his collections doesn't come off.

Commey stopped Alejandro Luna in round six last Saturday to set himself up to fight Easter for the IBF World lightweight title.

After the fight, Commey in his post-fight interview said. “Robert Easter, I’m coming for you. “If you want to fight, I want to fight. Let’s do it.”

And when Easter was asked about his next fight he revealed that his immediate plan is to take on Mikey Garcia.

“Like I said, we’re looking forward to the Mikey Garcia fight,” Easter said.

“And if that opportunity doesn’t come, then yeah, we could fight Richard Commey again. You know, I never duck and dodge nobody.”

Commey-Easter fought 18 months ago for the then-vacant IBF World lightweight strap but the Ghanaian lost via controversial decision.
