Richard Commey ready to raise high the flag of Ghana

World title hopeful, Richard Commey (25-2, 22 KO’s), says he is ready to raise the flag of Ghana very high.

Commey last September burst onto the world stage when lost a disputed split decision against Robert Easter Jr. in an IBF World lightweight clash.

Due to Commey’s exploits, he has been signed on by DiBella Entertainment owned by one of the biggest promoters in the world Lou Dibella.

The Ghanaian has thus relocated to U.S.A as he prepares for another world title challenge. When asked in an interview with BoxingAfrica.com whether he is looking to re-ignite their passion for boxing and rejuvenate the Ghanaian fan base in America, the Ghanaian said:

“Yeah, most definitely. I represent Ghana and I represent Africa. I’ve come here now and I’m ready to put my life on the line to raise the name of Ghana, my country, high. We are far behind when it comes to boxing. Ghana has a strong name in the sport but we have slacked a little bit".

"So, if God is going to use me to raise the name of Ghana back up there again, then I am ready to put my life on the line for it. I’m not here to prove anything to anyone because I have already done that. I am here to win a world title and to raise the name of Ghana and Africa.”
