Rabbon Dodoo passes vote of confidence in Game Boy

GBA 2nd Vice President, Rabon Dodoo says boxer Emmanuel Tagoe popularly nicknamed Game Boy is the man for the big occasion and has praised him for the exceptional ability to adapt to any situation in the ring during fights.

Mr. Dodoo led a GBA delegation on Tuesday afternoon to welcome Game Boy and his team back into the country following the boxer’s 9th round victory over Mexican-American, Gerardo Robles in California, USA last Friday.

The GBA chief is adamant Tagoe has often faced unfair criticism for his style of fighting, pointing out that is the very quality that sets the boxer apart from his rivals.

“People were discouraged by his last fight’s performance but when you get into the ring, a boxer’s attitude or tactics can affect your own style because of the circumstance. It doesn’t mean he is a bad boxer, he had to adjust to the opponent,” Rabbon Dodoo told BOXING IN GHANA exclusively at the Kotoka International Airport.

He continued: “To me that is what makes him a special champion, he knows what to do at the right time and that makes him a world championship material. He can fight anywhere.”

Mr. Dodoo also reflected on Tagoe’s fight in the USA and the failure to annex the IBF Intercontinental Super Featherweight title due to the boxer failing the weight test pre-fight.

“It has paved the way for him to fight for the WBO title itself so even though he did not win the title, the fight has given him the chance to fight for the world title which we should all be happy about. He has also gained the experience of fighting in the USA which is also a plus,” the GBA 2nd Vice President explained.
