Professor Azumah Nelson Dumped

Boxing legend Azumah Nelson now Technical Director of Ghana Boxing Authority has been sadly dumped by authorities of National Sports Council ,Ghana Boxing Authority and Ministry of Youth and Sports when a high powered delegation from these bodies left the shores of Ghana for United States to watch Manny Pacquaio fight with Joshua Clottey at the famous Cowboys stadium in Texas on Saturday .

In a chart with Radio B.A.R in Sunyani , the former WBC super featherweight champion said though Clottey would be coming up against a very hard opponent ,it is not impossible for him to win the fight and called for total support and prayers from Ghanaians for Joshua.

Recounting why boxing in Ghana has fallen into oblivion , Azumah , whose sadness could be felt in his voice said it was incumbent on the authorities to ensure that as the Technical Director he gets to the States before anyone but was sidelined for persons who know nothing about the sport to travel to the States at this critical period where experience counts.

Callers to the programme chastised the authorities for the shabby treatment that was given to Azumah and requested an apology to be rendered to him immediately on their return.

‘’Azumah could have psyched clottey before and during the fight but tell me what help can those who went to the States offer Clottey’’ a caller fumed .
