Professional boxing managers to meet

All trainers and managers of professional boxers in and around Accra-Tema Metropolis are invited to a meeting at the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) offices on Friday, January 24, at 1000 hours prompt.

Mr Peter Assandoh, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the GBA who issued the invitation asked the invited persons to also bring along fighting records of their wards for updating purposes.

He said the meeting would discuss pertinent issues on handling of boxers who are champions in the various weight divisions.

"It is now very necessary to back our national champions with a lot of technical expertise to win more laurels for Ghana", he stated adding that somewhere up the ladder, fights are won from the corners and these must be well constructed to advantage.

The technical chairman who just returned from a course in Europe said important aspects like dieting, training and private lifestyles are components necessary to make world beaters from national champions.
