Moyoyo wants African cruiserweight title fight

Aloyi Moyoyo, Ghana's topmost heavyweight boxer said he is prepared to challenge anybody for the African cruiserweight title. Speaking to the GNA Sports on Tuesday, Moyoyo said he is indeed a cruiserweight, but has been fighting as a heavyweight because of lack of opponents in the lower division.

He said after two professional fights in the heavyweight division where he kayoed his opponents, he is sure to annex the African cruiserweight title if offered the opportunity.

"I have fought with heavier boxers and knocked them out and I don't see any reason why a cruiserweight on the African continent could pose any threat to me", he said. He admitted he might not be an artistic boxer but added that his asset is the power he has in both hands, which has sent his opponents to retire early in his previous fights.

"All I want is a promoter to match me against the African champion and the title will come to Ghana".

Moyoyo said he is a disciplined boxer but unfortunately he has no manager and called on interested managers to sign him on to ease the various problems he encounters while preparing for fights.

Aloyi Moyoyo knocked out Ibrahim Marshall in the first round in his professional debut and stopped Joe Addo in the fourth round in his second fight. His defeat of Addo nearly resulted in a ring disaster, as the bigger and taller Addo was knocked down unconscious and regained consciousness after two ringside doctors had worked on him for well over 30 minutes.
