Newly crowned World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, presented his world title to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Tuesday afternoon.

Dogboe was accompanied by his dad/trainer Paul Dogboe and management team from the Rising Star Africa Promotions.

The President, who expressed delight regarding Dogboe’s achievement congratulated the young champ and indicated that his victory had made the nation happy and proud.

President Akufo-Addo expressed the government’s commitment to giving the 23-year-old world champion the necessary support to enable him to succeed in his career.

While wishing him the best in his future bouts, he urged all upcoming boxers as well as sportsmen and women to work hard to bring more success and laurels to the nation.

Dogboe, in a rather humble demeanor, thanked the President for the recognition and promised to work hard to make the nation proud.

The former Olympian became Ghana’s eighth world champion after dethroning then champion Jessie Magdaleno to win the aforementioned strap.

Dogboe recovered from round one knockdown to drop Magdaleno three times enroute to round 11 stoppage. The fight came off last month in Philadelphia, USA.
