Golden Mike sad over Ayi Bruce defeat

Mike Tetteh, CEO of the Golden Mike Boxing Promotions which’s parent outfit Golden Concepts are the local managers and promoters of Mohammed Nii Ayi Bruce is crying wolf over the Ghanaian boxer’s latest defeat.

Bruce, fighting on the undercard of last Saturday’s WBO Welterweight epic between pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Mexican hard fighter Juan Manuel Marquez, suffered a 7th round knock-out loss to 34 year old Filipino Dennis Laurente (41-4-5, 22KOs).

Ayi Bruce (20-5-0, 12KOs) not only lost, he was actually dominated and beaten to pulp before he was unable to continue again at 57 seconds of the round 7 of the scheduled 10.

Golden Mike CEO Mike Tetteh whose outfit organized a press conference for the Ayi Bruce before he last flew out of the country back in April, is sad that the boxer took both fights since without their knowledge, insisting that they would have advised him otherwise.

“I am very sad because he shouldn’t have fought this because the opponent was more experienced and not too old. Ayi is a young upcoming boxer so he must fight less experienced guys for some time to gain the experience he needs to face opponents like this,” Mr. Tetteh told ALL SPORTS.

The obviously disappointed man added: “I don’t want to talk about him because different meanings will be read into my comments. It’s important that our boxers learn to listen to learn.”
