GAABA releases week seven fixtures

Accra, May 15, GNA - The Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) has released the pairings for week seven of the Regional Boxing League slated for Friday, May 16 at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonment. Top of the pack will be a featherweight clash between Joshua Barnor of Panix Gym and Enoch Adjei of Fit Square.

Barnor, the reigning Central Regional champion has been struggling to regain his old form, as inconsistency has characterized his output during the third edition of the league.

Two weeks ago, during a week five bout, Barnor, who idolizes former Middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins was disqualified in the second round for consistently hitting his opponent below the belt. But this time around, he has vowed to sacrifice Adjei as he yearns to regain his form and distinguish himself.

In other bouts, Ekow Wilson of Black Panthers Gym will face Nurudeen Mohamed of Fit Square in another featherweight fight. Fit Square's Duke Micah battles Sulemana Tetteh of Wisdom in a Flyweight contest while Emmanuel Quartey, also of Fit Square engages James Kotey of Wisdom.

In the Lightweight division, Will Power's Eric Addy will come up against Emmanuel Abu of Believers Gym while Francis Aryee of Attoh Quarshie battles fans' favourite Odoi Yemofio of De-Oak Gym. The Pride of Ashaiman, Felix Agbozo is highly favoured against Zakaria Abbas of Fit Square in a Light welterweight division which will also have Benjamin Lamptey and Joshua Addy, both from Will Power Gym battling for supremacy.

In the welterweight class, Ebenezer Sowah of Attoh Quarshie Gym will face Joseph Lamptey of newcomers, Sonia Gym while Emmanuel Quarshie, also of Attoh Quarshie may be too hot for Moses Lartey of Will Power.

Charles Azumah of Attoh Quarshie will engage Emmanuel Tagoe of Sonia Gym while Giblin Ahmed of Wisdom faces Iddrisu Yakubu of Fit Square both in the middleweight class. Black Panthers' Michael Osunla will come up against Ebenezer Tetteh in a Light heavyweight contest while rasta-haired Gideon Osabutey of Ashaiman Gym face Richard Harrison of Sonia in the heavyweight division.
