Clottey advises Isaac Dogboe to drop weight

Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Welterweight Champion, Joshua Clottey has uttered a word of advice for young and upcoming boxer Isaac Dogboe.

He has urged his compatriot to drop to the bantamweight division from his present featherweight.

In an interview with sportscrusader.com Clottey said, “there is no doubt with regards to the talent of Dogboe, but for me I will advice him to fight in the super-bantamweight division, where I think he can excel especially looking at the caliber of boxers who fight in that category”.

The 38 year -old boxer also said that, the featherweight category is a very difficult one especially considering the class of fighters in that category which includes Gary Russell Jr, Lee Selby, Vasyl Lomachenko.

Clottey, also reinstated his trust in the trainer of Dogboe who fortunately happens to be his father Paul. He urged him to continue with the good management of his son, as this will really help with his development.
