Boxer appeals for a manager

Ho, (V/R) July 12, GNA - Assani Mawuko, a Ho-based boxer who has turned to truck pushing to earn a living has appealed for the services of a Manager to help him bounce back into serious boxing to develop and continue with his in-built profession.

Assani popularly called the "Lion" said he possesses the Ghana Boxing Association renewable license but had been out of action since 1998 for lack of a manager to help him progress in the sport. The boxer who spoke to the GNA Sports in an interview at Ho on Thursday said he was the Volta Regional Boxing champion in the late 90s and represented the Region in a tournament in nearby Togo. Assani said the lack of a manager has affected his progress and that has caused to undertake menial jobs to earn a living but that his talent and skills were still intact.

He said he was therefore 'burning' to go back for his gloves to prove his potential to all that his God given talent was waiting to be tapped in the boxing profession if he was given the opportunity. 12 July 07
