Black Bombers Storm Togo

Black Bombers triumphed with seven(7) Gold and three(3) Silver at the Africa Zone II Amateur Boxing Championship held in Togo, from 19th to 25th April, 2011, ensuring their qualification for the Africa Championship to be held in June 2011.

At the end of the event, certificates of merit were presented to the boxers.
In general, Ghana’s participation in the tournament was beneficial because apart from improving the Bombers tactical and technical skills, it also exposed them to competitive boxing at the international level.

Ghana’s 20- man contingent led by Mr. S.K. Antwi , the Technical Director have since arrived home and commenced non-residential training at the Ohene-Djan Sports Stadium, Accra in preparation towards the Africa Championship scheduled for June 2011 as well as other international tournaments.

The GABF wishes to thank the National Sports Council and the Sports Ministry for facilitating the Team’s trip to Togo.

The Federation also registers its gratitude to Global Voice Group and Voltic GH. Ltd for their sponsorship packages prior to the Team’s departure.
The GABF under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ray Quarcoo has strived to put an end to ad hoc preparations towards major tournaments and therefore wishes to request for more sponsorship from companies and individual philanthropist for the successful upkeep of the Black Bombers as they remain in camp ahead of upcoming international competitions.
