Ghana’s Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe has revealed that International Hall of Fame Inductee, Azumah Nelson abandoned him in the dressing room on the day of his fight against George Ashie which was in 2014.

According to Tagoe, on the day of his fight against Ashie, Nelson after taping his hands left him in the dressing room.

“I went to the stadium with Azumah Nelson, he was my coach at that time after taping my hands he left me in the dressing room,” Tagoe told Happy FM.

“Azumah Nelson told me he wants to watch the undercard fights, after some time I asked someone to call him but he failed to come. I was worried unfortunately I saw coach Akese and I told him about my situation.”

He continued, “Coach Akese gathered the courage and took me in the ring, God willing I was able to beat George Ashie on the day.”

When asked why Nelson left him in the locker room, he said, “What I will say is Azumah Nelson was afraid to be at my corner because he believed I will lose, but I surprised him.”

Tagoe will be making a return to the ring on January 27th against Fernando David Saucedo at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
